The menu had so many choices, it took us quite awhile to decide, but we finally did.
I ordered: Tom Kha Gai, which is a chicken soup with coconut milk, chili, lime juice and mushrooms.
This soup was amazing! I really loved it. I cannot wait to try it again! It was just this perfect balance of flavours.
We also ordered an appetizer. Poa Pia Goong Tod: Springrolls stuffed with shrimp.
These were also quite good. Nice crunchy wrappers with huge shrimp inside.
For our main we ordered:
Gang Garee Gai: chicken with potatoes, light curry and coconut milk.
| This was very good, however I found it a bit sweet. Despite that, the potatoes were amazing, and the chicken was very tender. |
...and we had Kao Pad Gai: Thai-style chicken fried rice.
This was very good, and exactly as described. Chicken fried rice.
Overall, I enjoyed our experience in Thai cuisine. I most definitely want to try it again. Next time, I am going to be more adventurous and order something spicy (and of course, that amazing soup)!
Hope you enjoyed your peek at my experience with Thai Cuisine! Maybe I will try to find a recipe for the soup! If I do, I will be sure to share it with you!
Until next time, Happy Munching!
Spring rolls stuffed with shrimp?!
ReplyDeleteOh heck yes!!
I've tried something similar to Gang Garee Gai.
It was very good, they served it in a bowl, they gave me rice separate, and a plate.
So I could mix in as much rice to curry chicken and vice versa.
It was so delicious!
If you like Thai food, there's a really adorable little place on Carling called the Silver Spoon.
The waitresses there are really sweet and nerdy looking =P
Try their Wonton Soup ^^
Awesome! I will definitely have to try it out :)
